Nurajacks

Nuralite’s Nurajacks are made in Italy to the highest standards of quality and design.  The patented self levelling head and above tile adjustable screw are world leading and bring multiple benefits to building owners and tile installers.

Laying a deck with Nurajacks is easy (see the installation tab for installation videos).  The Nurajacks simply rest on top of a waterproofing membrane or any stable, erosion-proof surface and the tiles or joists sit on the self-levelling head of the Nurajack. The void between the decking and the membrane can be used to accommodate pipes and other services. Adding an acoustic shim is a cost effective way to further enhance the acoustic reduction properties of the system.
Bi-Component Tile Head
Nurajacks have a unique bi-component head.  The heads feature an integrated rubber component that is designed to minimise tile vibration which reduces the reflective echo of the system when it is walked on.  The rubber component also aids the installation as the tiles will not slide off the head or move around during installation.

Large Stable Base
Nurajacks feature a large 330 sq cm base to evenly distribute the full weight of the Tile/Paver/Timber Decking and whatever may be on top.  This minimizes any indentation that is evident with smaller based Jacks available on the market.  Nurajacks can withstand weights upto 1000KG, however, consideration must be given to the structure and the membrane before excessive loads (such as Spa Pools) are placed on the Nurajacks.

Self-Leveling Heads
The unique self-leveling head of the Nurajack provides a level deck every time. With other deck-jacks, tilers must resort to placing ad-hoc shims under the base of the jacks - a time consuming practice that has the potential to damage the waterproofing membrane through point loading. With Nurajacks, the deck load is evenly spread on their wide base, ensuring stability and that the integrity of the membrane is maintained while the self leveling head facilitates a level traficable surface. Nurajacks can self-level up to 5 degrees.

Above Deck Height Adjustment Feature
When tiles/pavers are installed over Nurajacks, the tiler is able to complete the installation with perfect accuracy by adjusting the height of the tiles from above, without the need to remove the tiles. The Nurajack Adjustment Key (available from Nuralite) can be used for this purpose.

Thermal Expansion
Tiles, pavers and Timber Decking all expand and contract depending on the exterior temperature.  If a Tile or paver is direct glued to a substrate, expansion joints are required. Nurajacks remove this requirement as the individual pavers are able to expand and contract without affecting the surrounding structure.  However, the New Zealand Building Code requires a gap at the perimeter of a Tile/paver or timber deck.  Nuralite Tile Cladding Spacers can be used to interface between the edge of the deck and the building structure.

Moisture Control
Tiles and Pavers on Nurajacks do not have grout between them.  This allows rain water to flow between the tiles/pavers letting the waterproofing membrane to do it's work, shedding water to the drainage.  Another advantage is that the membrane is then able to breath, any excess moisture will quickly evaporate ensuring that there is no long term dampness around the membrane.

Removable Tile/Pavers
As the Nurajack system is a totally floated system, there is no adhesive or fixing involved.  All the tiles and pavers are removable for inspection purposes and an added advantage is that additional services, can be run under the suspended tiles or pavers.  When timber decking is fastened using Stainless Steel Screws, the decking can also be removed for inspection of the membrane deck as required.

Nurapads
The Nuralite Nurapad is a simple solution for a complex problem.  The Nurapad is a low profile polyproplyne plastic disk designed to support, tiles, pavers and timber or aluminium joists.  Nurapads are not fixed to a waterproof membrane, but simply sit on the membrane protecting it from the deck finish.  Whilst the Nurapads are not adjustable, they are stackable and Nuralite have a range of rubber shims (see Accessories) to facilitate leveling of the deck surface.
