Project Overview
This high-end residential new build at Queensway required a seamless, level-entry outdoor space that transitioned cleanly from the interior to the patio and front door entry. At the owner’s request, 20mm quartz natural stone was specified to achieve a sleek, contemporary finish and visual continuity with nearby pool and pathways.

Challenge: Level Entry with 20mm Non-Structural Stone
The project presented several technical and design challenges:

Traditionally, thin stone presents structural limitations in raised external applications. Meeting these requirements using conventional methods would have restricted tile choice or required increased tile thickness, undermining the intended design.
Solution: Full Support Using Nurajack and Nuragrid
To address the limitations of using 20mm non-structural stone in a raised application, DeckJacks specified Nurajack adjustable pedestals paired with Nuragrid. Together, they created a fully supported raised platform designed specifically for thinner stone tiles, such as quartz.
The Nurajacks allowed precise height adjustment to achieve a true level-entry finish while maintaining access beneath the tiled surface. Nuragrid was installed over the pedestals to provide continuous support across each tile, stabilising the 20mm quartz.
By removing traditional constraints around tile thickness and support, the system enabled 20mm non-structural stone to be used confidently in a raised application. The result was a stable, durable platform that delivered both design freedom and long-term performance, giving confidence to both installer and owner.
